On Saturday, March 17, 2018, our family put into practice the Divine Counsel found in the inspired pages of the book Education (pages 244-245):
“Since the Sabbath is the memorial of creative power, it is the day of all others when we should be familiar with God through His works. Happy are the parents who can teach their children God’s written Word with illustrations from the open pages of the book of nature; who can gather under the green trees, in the fresh, pure air, to study the Word and to sing praises to the Heavenly Father.”
Studying the Word in God’s Creation
On that Sabbath, we set out to study the Word of our God surrounded by His creation. We visited the Natural Bridge located in Western Virginia, United States. It is a majestic site with a height of 66 meters and a span of 27 meters.
In this sanctuary of nature, one can breathe pure air while various species of birds brighten the atmosphere with their beautiful songs. We also observed many deer coming to drink from the river that flows beneath the bridge, where colorful fish swim in the clear waters.
